New Delhi: Breaking News! The drama involving the Indian Premier League (IPL) continued, as Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Praful Patel has been linked to the IPL row.
According to an email leaked to the media, former MoS for External Affairs, Shashi Tharoor had sought some crucial details about the IPL bidding process just two days before the auction.
Praful Patel's personal secretary Champa Bharadwaj had sent an email to Tharoor, with a document containingprojections of new franchisee valuation in the IPL.
Champa Bharadwaj had forwarded the email she received from Praful Patel's daughter Poorna Patel on March 19.Shashi Tharoor later supported Kochi Team, which emerged as the second highest bidder.
Meanwhile, Praful Patel denied the allegations that he was linked to the IPL. His party NCP also defended him and rejected the demand for his resignation over this issue.
