Tracking Procurement Complexity

Issue Source: MCT

Affected Parties: Country Offices, Headquarters

Categorization: Efficiency – Lack of System Capability

Atlas does not provide a field for complexity of procurement process. It only describes amounts. When then trying to determine performance standards per procurement process we can not distinguish between various levels of complexity of procurement (buying a computer vs. buying HIV/AIDS medicine for example) and therefore can not develop relevant performance standards for each level of complexity. One alternate possibility might be to set up item categories based on procurement complexity and begin to track procurement based on these categories.
